The representatives of English Youth Community (E-youC) in a Debate Competition at the ETIS Vol. II held by Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM)

May 31, 2023 - Four agents of the English Youth Community Makassar participated in a debate competition at the ETIS Vol. II which was held at Universitas Negeri Makassar. Our debaters were divided into two teams; the E-YouC A team and the E-YouC B team.

• E-youC A Team: Andi Dwi Putra Ramadan and Izzatul Jannah
• E-youC B Team: Ismail Mubarak and Wafiyah Asyifah Fa'adhilah

The debate competition lasted for two days. On the second day, the E-youC A Team made it into the semifinals, but unfortunately they lost at that stage.

Our debaters have managed to show enthusiasm and done their best in this competition. This achievement is definitely inseparable from the support of E-youC agents, supervisors, and advisors, especially Mr. Subhan Rahmat as the Coach who has guided the representatives of  English Youth Community in this competition. This award is a matter of pride for the English Youth Community Makassar.

"This kind of debate competition was very different from competitions I have participated in before, which used a parliamentary accent system, and this competition used a British parliamentary system. By joining this competition, I got a lot of new things, that I never got before especially knowing how to debate in English. It was so interesting, I was excited, and satisfied to join this competition. I hope that I could join another competition, especially in an English debate, not for being as an experience, but as a winner." (Ismail Mubarak)

"An English debate competition made a very big impact on confidence in expressing arguments. By joining it, I knew how debate competitions are like, I learned about how to present arguments properly.
