English Village Agenda in SDIT PLUS QURTHUBA

This time, English Youth Community was invited to collaborate with SDIT PLUS QURTHUBA and was trusted to be mentor in English Village agenda with the students of SDIT PLUS QURTHUBA. This agenda was carried out on 28 to 29 October 2022. 

English Village agenda was filled with giving an English pre-test from the English Youth Community mentor to students followed by giving some materials. In addition, this activity was also enlivened with evening performances from students and also outbound activity to increase group collaboration between students in outdoor learning. Games are also provided to make learning English fun.

The event was closed by holding a Post test or English evaluation test for SDIT PLUS QURTHUBA students regarding the material that had been given previously.

Alhamdulillah, students' knowledge of English is increased after the material was given. The results of the evaluation test (Post-test) increased from the results of the pre-test held the previous day.

Wan Ajijah, the chairman of the committee for this agenda said that English Village is expected to provide output to students so that later they can speak full English in several places in the school and increase their knowledge, especially students who are still new to the English language.

E-YouC Held a Social Service in Commemoration of the Prophet's Birthday (Palemba, Pattalassang)

The birthday of the Prophet Muhammad or Maulid Nabi is one of the public holidays in Indonesia. According to the Hijri calendar, this day falls on the 12th day of the third Islamic month of Rabi' Al Awwal. There are a lot of traditions for celebrating this auspicious day. In Makassar, Maulid Nabi is known as Ma Maulu'.

On Sunday, 23 October 2022, the members of the English Youth Community (E-YouC) collaborated with residents of Palemba, Pattalassang in enlivening Ma' Maulu. This agenda is enlivened by boiled eggs that are given various colors along with buckets containing various dishes that complement steamed rice or glutinous rice, at the top is decorated with various snacks and colorful eggs. The eggs are hung on bamboo and then plugged into the trunk of a banana tree and given a small bucket filled with Songkolo (cooked glutinous rice).

The Ma Maulu' event was also filled with religious speeches about the biography of the Prophet Muhammad SAW and extraordinary advice that he had taught.

At the end of the agenda, the members of E-YouC collaborate with the residents of Palemba village to distribute the eggs and Songkolo to the guests who were present.

Through this celebration, the English Youth Community hopes to create an Islamic society that loves Rasulullah and imitates him in everyday life.

Pelantikan, Upgrading, dan Rapat Kerja Pengurus English Youth Community periode 2022/2023

Tanggal 15 Oktober 2022 merupakan salah satu tanggal penting untuk English Youth Community  2021/2022, karena adanya serangkaian acara pelantikan, upgrading, dan rapat kerja (raker) dengan tema “Boosting Agents Enthusiasm to Enhance English Youth Community”. Kegiatan pelantikan hingga raker berlangsung mulai pukul 13.00-23.00 WITA, bertempat di kediaman salah satu Advisor English Youth Community, Kakanda Subhan Rahmat, S.Pd.,M.Pd.. 

Acara berlangsung dengan khidmat dari awal hingga akhir. “Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengakhiri kepengurusan English Youth Community periode 2021/2022 dan melantik kepengurusan English Youth Community periode 2022/2023. Agenda lainnya adalah pembahasan program kerja yang akan dilakukan untuk satu periode ke depan” ungkap salah satu pengurus English Youth Community Periode 2022/2023. Pada sambutan yang diberikan oleh Subhan Rahmat S.Pd.,M.Pd selaku Advisor English Youth Community, beliau berharap agar ke depannya English Youth Community dapat terus bersinar dan terus memperbaiki komunikasi antar agents. “Saya berharap kita bisa bergerak bersama menciptakan English Youth Community yang hebat dan bisa terus menunjukkan eksistensinya ” ungkap Andi Dwi Putra Ramadhan, Presiden English Youth Community dalam sambutannya.

Prosesi pelantikan dan ikrar sumpah jabatan dipimpin oleh Subhan Rahmat, S.Pd.,M.Pd. yang diikuti oleh seluruh pengurus. Acara diakhiri dengan foto bersama antara pengurus, .

Setelah acara pelantikan, dilanjutkan dengan upgrading. acara ini berisi penyampaian materi supervisor dan advisor English Youth Community. Materi pertama dengan tema kesekretariatan disampaikan oleh saudari Nurfadhilah B. selaku Sekretaris English Youth Community Periode 2020/2021,materi kedua dengan tema Kepemimpinan oleh saudara Haerul Akbar selaku supervisor English Youth Community dan ketua Umum HMJ PBI UIN Alauddin Makassar Periode 2021/2022. Materi terakhir, dengan tema Keorganisasian (E-YouC) oleh kakanda Armadi Jaya, S.Pd.,M.Pd .Acara penyampaian materi ini diakhiri dengan pemberian sertifikat kepada masing-masing pemateri. 

Acara selajutnya adalah rapat kerja. Acara ini dipimpin langsung oleh Kakanda Armadi Jaya S.Pd.,M.Pd. Satu persatu ketua divisi membacakan rencana program kerja untuk satu periode ke depan. Masukan dan saran pun diterima dari peserta agar program kerja lebih baik. “Harapannya, English Youth Community dapat benar-benar menjadi keluarga yang dapat mempersatukan semua anggotanya, semoga dari program kerja yang telah disusun juga dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan skill anggotanya” pungkas Andi Reski Utami sebagai penanggung jawab acara pelantikan, upgrading, dan rapat kerja. Rapat kerja diakhiri dengan sharing bersama pengurus inti dan pengurus harian English Youth Community.
